THANK HEAVEN FOR LITTLE GIRLS

Many of you may never have heard Maurice Chevalier sing Thank Heaven For Little Girls. If not, it would be worth your time to rent it and watch him and Leslie Caron, Louis Jourdan and Hemione Gingold in Vincent Minelli’s (Liza’s dad) wonderful movie musical Gigi.

It made me think of some of the little girl’s (some who’ve grown up to be beautiful women) I treasure in my life.

Thank heaven for little girls

for little girls get bigger every day!

Thank heaven for little girls

they grow up in the most delightful way!

Those little eyes so helpless and appealing

one day will flash and send you crashin’ thru the ceiling

Thank heaven for little girls

thank heaven for them all,

no matter where no matter who

for without them,

what would little boys do?
