WRITERS’ READING AND CRITIQUE GROUPS

Writing is such a solitary endeavor.  Those of us who practice that art (craft?) always yearn for a safe, supportive, constructive group which provides the opportunity to meet with other creatives, read our work in progress and receive positive, constructive critique.

Such a place is Trinity Writers’ Workshop in Bedford, Texas. This group has been meeting since the 1970s and now offers two workshops per week. One is on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm; the other is on Saturday at 10:00 am. For more information, visit our blog and website: http://twwblog,blogspot.com, the other is http://trinitywritersworkshop.com

I feel fortunate to belong to such a supportive group.

Our active members include poets, short-story writers, novelists, non-fiction writers, memoir writers, song writers and musicians.

Each week I will focus on ane published writer in the group.  The first of these writers is Ann Summerville

Ann Summerville, author of A Graceful Death and Storms & Secrets, was born in England, and in search of a warmer climate, moved to California before settling in Texas. Her short stories and flash fiction have been published in the Lutheran Digest, Long Story Short, The Shine Journal, Doorknobs & Bodypaint, Associated Content, Trinity Writers’ Workshop newsletters and also their collection of Christmas stories. Ann’s third novel, High Tide, was published in 2011. Ann resides in Fort Worth with her son, two boisterous dogs and a somewhat elusive cat. www.annsummerville.com
